About this site

Totality 2027 is a free service for the solar eclipse of 2 August 2027. It is run by Moodly Sverige (organisation number 802556-3845), a Swedish non-profit association. The surplus from the personal guides funds the association's work for children's well-being.

All times and values are calculated in advance for 67,379 places with 1,000 or more inhabitants in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Place data comes from GeoNames (CC BY 4.0). Sun and Moon positions come from the JPL ephemeris DE421 via Skyfield. The calculation is checked automatically against NASA eclipse data (Eclipse Predictions by Fred Espenak, NASA's GSFC). This site is not made or endorsed by NASA.

The times apply to the centre of each place. A few kilometres away they can differ by a few seconds, and near the edge of the path a few kilometres can decide whether the eclipse is total or not.
